The tubular heat exchanger is formed by connecting two standard pipes of different sizes into concentric sleeves with pipe fittings, and then connecting them with multistage sleeves. Each part of the sleeve is called a. The inner pipe of each pass is connected with the inner pipe of the next pass successively through U-shaped elbow, and the outer pipe is connected with the outer pipe. This heat exchanger usually has a large number of channels, which are usually arranged up and down and fixed on the pipe rack. If the required heat transfer area is large, several rows of wells can be connected to the main pipe.

In the process of heat exchange, one fluid flows in the inner tube and the other fluid flows in the annular gap between the sleeves. When the liquid is heated by steam, the liquid enters the inner pipe of the casing from below and flows through each part of the casing from above. The steam enters the annular gap of the upper casing, and the condensate is discharged from the casing through the condensate drain pipe.

The effective length of each tube heat exchanger is generally 4-6m. If it is too long, the pipe will bend downward, resulting in uneven fluid distribution in the annulus.

The utility model has the advantages that the casing heat exchanger is composed of standard pipes and pipe fittings, the structure is relatively simple and does not need to be processed. Because the number of rows and procedures is very flexible, they can be added or deleted at will. Proper selection of the diameter of the inner tube and the outer tube can increase the flow rate of the fluid, and the fluids on both sides can produce strict countercurrent with large heat transfer coefficient.

Its disadvantages are:

(1) Large volume, large floor area,

(2) Many joints are easy to leak;

(3) It is difficult to clean the pipe gap;

(4) Limited heat transfer area.

Casing heat exchanger is mainly applicable to the occasions where heat transfer is required, but the product requirements are small and the heat transfer efficiency is high.
